It has been reported that the UK National Lottery has apologised to their customers after users weren’t able to play games on Saturday night. This was after an issue occurred with their website, which left the giant out of pocket but the punters with money in their pockets.
The issue affected the website and the app but it didn’t affect the 46,000 retailers. On Sunday the National Lottery confirmed that the outages were caused by a DDoS attack. The attack last for about 90 minutes between 6pm and 7:30pm. The National lottery normally have a lot of traffic on the website between these times as it’s a peak time, so it will have affected them.
