Netflix has been warning people to change their passwords as some of the user IDs have been circulating on breach lists. Netflix have said to check your security and if necessary change passwords. The issue came about at the backend of last week, when an Adweek writer said that he had received a “reset your password” message.
The message was basically warning people that Netflix had discovered credentials that matched some users Netflix email addresses and passwords. These credentials were from a breach at a different company, Netflix has been warning groups of users since June. These potential security risks aren’t associated with Netflix, but Netflix are being proactive and alerting members to these issues so the users can address them.
