MongoDB involved in a data breach!
In recent months and weeks, it seems to be a situation of same stuff different day, yet another database has been left open and breached. The security for this database is also very sloppy but it also shows how much data you are giving up with some apps.
On Tuesday Security firm Kromtech released details of another database breach, the database was found unsecured online. Inside the unsecured database was 577GB of collected data by a predictive keyboard app called AI. type. This app has over 31 million users so this could potentially affect a lot of people.
Some of the information leaked in breach were names, locations, email addresses, IMSI and IMEI numbers, OS details, phone spec and IP addresses. There was also links to social media profiles and photos, so lots of information has been leaked. If it couldn’t get any worse the breach also slurped 372 million names and phone numbers from 6 million users contacts.
