Malware menacing South Korea!
Security researchers have suspicions that users in South Korea are once again under attack from a new RAT (remote administration tool), this has been nicknamed ROKRAT. Security researchers reported an attack that took place back in February this year, the attack was using a compromised government website to distribute malware. The malware was being spread in macro-laden documents, this was affecting users of the local language which is word processor Hangul.
The new attack that was posted on Monday is once again using the Hangul documents in phishing emails to transport the payload, this time it is ROKRAT.
