Malware creator collared by the FBI!
It’s been reported that Marcus Hutchins was arrested last Wednesday in Las Vegas on suspicion of writing malware programs. Hutchins who goes by the name MalwareTechBlog on Twitter was arrested after he attended the DEF CON hacking conference in Nevada, US. The FBI nabbed the youngster at Sin City’s airport, Hutchins was preparing to fly back home to Blighty after a long summer break of shooting ranges, hacking parties and fast cars.
According to a grand jury indictment which was released last Thursday by the US prosecutors, Hutchins is accused of creating, sharing and masterminding the Kronos bank account raiding trojan. The Kronos nasty was released around July 2014 to July 2015. There are allegations of Hutchins updating the code with a co-conspirator back in February 2015.
