Ross Mckillop a British developer has said that Apples implementation of previewing URLs, leaks users operating system information and IP address to websites. The leaks could be very helpful to hackers and spammers, helping them to better prepare their attacks, which makes it easier to home in on their target.
Any Apple user who receives an iMessage URL preview will have their operating system information, IP address and device type uploaded to a website. Mckillop goes on to say exploits could be created to exploit when the preview has been opened by a user.
