Hackers stealing Wi-Fi Keys!
Hackers have started to steal Wi-Fi keys from vulnerable routers that have been supplied by their ISP’s. In many recent news stories the hackers have managed to get into routers by planting malware. Security researchers have noticed that hackers have changed tactics in recent attacks over the weekend.
Customers who use TalkTalk are at risk of having their credentials stolen. TalkTalk released a firmware fix to try solve this issue, but it has failed all it does is revert the routers password to the default one which hackers might have.
Nearly all customers don’t change their Wi-Fi password from the one that’s written on the router. This type of attack means that hackers can alter a devices LAN configuration from the WAN side. Which means that the router could become part of a botnet army.
