Dow Jones involved in a breach!!
It has been reported that Dow Jones has been saving various internal databases in the cloud and hasn’t been securing them properly. This breach was found by Chris Vickery who works for a security firm called UpGuard. This type of breach seems to be very familiar, people upload data to the cloud and don’t secure it and unfortunately these events are occurring far too often.
Sensitive, personal and financial information on millions of company’s customers was exposed, all down to a repository that was set to “semi-public access”. Dow Jones has confirmed that at least 2.2 million customers were affected by this breach. Up guard’s calculations end up with a different number, they put the number closer to 4 million accounts.
