Do you know how to protect yourself online?
Mozilla have been doing a test on their community to see what people think about security and encryption. This is a test to see if people are vigilant when it comes to security, when it comes to personal security we always lock our doors and cars at night. So this begs the question would you leave your network open to a cyber-criminal?
The makers of Firefox have decided to ask 30,000 of their members, about how they rate their ability to protect themselves online. The members that were selected are from France, Germany, UK, Australia, Canada and the US.
8.9% opted for a “I’m basically Mr Robot” answer which most likely means they need to improve, however among the remainder of people. 11.5% said they know nothing about security and asked for help, 74.6% said they knew a little bit but not enough, 5 per cent suggested they were fine.
So in total about 90% of the members lacked confidence in their ability to protect themselves online.
