Bell Canada involved in another breach!
It has been reported that the executives at Bell Canada have been left rather embarrassed after their subscriber database was hacked for the second time. The first attack happened back in May 2017 were 1.9 million customer records were breached. The company has now admitted that recently the hackers have struck again and stolen personal information for 100,000 customers.
Bell Canada's security defences have now failed twice, they have apologised for the incident and are contacting those who are affected. There is also an active Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigation regarding this issue, Bell Canada have also notified the appropriate government agencies.
It has been reported that the attackers managed to get away with names, email addresses along with some phone numbers and account usernames and numbers. At this point in the investigation it doesn’t appear that any credit card information has been stolen, but the police are still investigating this issue.
