Barrister’s husband uploads unencrypted client data!
A Barrister has been fined £1,000 by the ICO after her husband accidentally uploaded client information to the internet. The information is believed to belong to upto 250 people, this included vulnerable adults and children all this information was unencrypted so it was open to view.
The incident took place when her husband backed them up using an online file directory service. This was whilst he was updating software on their home computer.
