Ukrainian man arrested over NotPetya attack!

It’s been reported that a middle aged Ukrainian man has been arrested on suspicion of distributing the very menacing NotPetya ransomware.

Sergey Neverov 51, a computer enthusiast and also a video blogger from Nikopol was arrested on the 7th August 2017 by the Ukrainian police. Neverov has been accused of posting a video online which explains how to infect a computer with Petya-A. Neverov is also accused of sharing a download link for the nasty malware through a social media account.

It has been stressed that Neverov isn’t accused of been behind the creating of the NotPetya malware, or the initial ransomware attack that struck the world last June. The offences he has been arrested for are crimes in facilitation. The Police have said that at least 400 computers were infected by the malware that the suspect uploaded.
