iPhone Vulnerable to Repeated Attack

Apple has been informed of a new threat to their iOS.  A new vulnerability is a currently letting certain iOS applications run continually in the background, even after the user has manually terminated the app.

The new issue has been nicknamed InsOmnia has allowed certain apps to bypass restrictions that Apple have placed in the background, normally allowing an app to run for only a few minutes before terminating.  This isn’t necessarily a huge issue until it comes to performance speed.  Multiple apps open at the same time will considerably reduce efficiency and processing speed of the devices.  Apple has responded by issuing an update and strongly advices users to ensure they are running on iOS 8.4.1.

This highlights the need to make sure that your devices, and also your hardware and software within your business are updated and any patches or updates run on your systems as they are issued.   ITWiser also provide Internal and External Security Audits that will highlight areas of concern within you organisation and allow us to offer impartial and cost effective solutions for any vulnerability.  We are also offering a new Virtual IT Manager service where we can remotely ensure your systems are patched and updated as they are released, therefore leaving you fully up to date.
