Are the NHS to blame?

The National Audit Office’s looked into the WannaCry ransomware attack and the effects that it had on the NHS, this report was released towards the backend of October. The reports point the finger towards the NHS, the NHS had warnings about the potential attacks and the trusts didn’t prepare themselves. The NHS didn’t apply basic patches which could have helped them avoid the attack.

NHS digital who are the national provider for all the IT systems for UK public sector health and social care, conducted a cyber-preparedness assessment before the ransomware hit. During this test 88 trusts were tested and all of them failed.
