AA involved in a breach!

The UK motoring giant The AA admitted late on Friday 7th July that customer information has been exposed in the recent breach, in some cases this included partial credit card numbers. Security experts are not impressed by this late admission; a specialist IT lawyer has said incident response handling like this will risk big repercussions when the new data protection laws come into effect next May.

The breach has affected 117,000 and lots of personal information has been exposed including, names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers. In some cases, credit card data was also exposed which included expiry dates and the final 4 digits of the card number.
